Associative life takes center stage in Menton this weekend! The City of Lemons hosts its very first Menton Associations Forum, to discover and meet the volunteers who day after day animate the local associative network.
The Deputy-Mayor of Menton Jean-Claude GUIBAL had promised it: Menton had to organize a major associations gathering to demonstrate the dynamism and work accomplished during the year by all the volunteers!
It’s all happening this first weekend of September: the Palais de l’Europe offers its premises to host nearly 200 associations registered in the town, who have gladly responded to the call from the CCAS of Menton – which took charge of preparing the event with the city’s support.
Throughout the stands arranged thematically (patriotic, folkloric, cultural, sports…), making it easier for their searches, visitors could also attend numerous activities; dance, music, and various sports performances…
The objective of this Forum is obviously to introduce to the general public the sometimes unknown missions and activities of the associations in the azure city, and to meet the volunteers, but also, perhaps, to encourage them to take the step to become a member.
An objective confirmed by Doctor Patricia MARTELLI, Deputy in charge of Social Affairs and Solidarities at the City: “This meeting will allow the people of Menton to discover the diversity and quality of the associative fabric. On-site, families can even register. Finally, it will honor the volunteers who are heavily invested within the associations.”
For Maxime PEREGRINI and the Photo Menton association, the Menton Associations Forum is a true boon. This event allows for real “exchange” of contacts and notably to forge links. Xavier BARÉ, member of the Photo Menton association, realizes this opportunity: “our goal is to promote image and show our support to the NGO HAMAP. For this, we organize an annual photography festival in Menton in November, a night of photography, and a photography marathon, in which more than 120 photographers, mostly amateurs, participate. The forum helps us build a network of contacts and find new exhibition venues.”
