Nice and Its Exceptional Greenery

Latest News

For the first time in Nice, a presentation of a tourist destination is crafted using elements from nature, showcasing awe-inspiring features and especially sights that have never been seen before.

“NICE, THE VEGETAL EXCEPTION” follows the graphic style of previously created works (Nice, Multiple Creativity, A Winter in Nice…). Bilingual and serving as both a “business card” and an original documentary souvenir of Nice intended to charm visitors, this type of brochure also represents a new “breed” of publication.

Through this document, the reader is invited on an initiatory and surprising journey through the plant world, specifically through the barks and exceptional species to which they belong, originating from various continents. Acclimatized over the years, these plants are part of the heritage of Nice and constitute one of its riches. The barks and trees lead to the most emblematic, albeit not exhaustive, locations in Nice and Greater Nice.

The variety of these species also attests to Nice’s vocation as a land of exchanges and culture. It represents the global diversity of both the plant world and the human world that it welcomes.

A true figurative tableau, the intimate and photographed writing of the bark universe is the work of Cédric Pollet (a Nice-born engineer, botanist, and landscape architect). His perspective offers a complementary vision of the city of Nice as a destination.

During the presentation of the book, a large-format exhibition of some of the macro-photographed barks from “NICE, THE VEGETAL EXCEPTION” will be held simultaneously in the large greenhouse of the Phoenix Park.
