After the calendar of Old Nice merchants, the slaps given to Marc Olivier Fogiel, and the human packaging, Metcuc, the artist from the Côte d’Azur, is preparing a new performance she will deliver at the upcoming Erotica event, which will take place from September 22 to 24 at the Acropolis Exhibition Palace. Nice Première met with Emilie Guérin to learn more about her latest projects.
Nice Première: Emilie, do you have two big news items to present to us?
Metcuc: Yes yes yes… I’m quite excited… I’m working on my next opening at the FERRERO Gallery for the launch of Marrede.com.
I had a lot of fun with the calendar of Old Nice merchants, but this is different. The photos that will be displayed express my heartfelt cry on themes of my generation…
And then there’s the work we’re putting in place on CAUET… (but shhh, it’s a surprise.)
NP: Like last year, you will be present at Erotica 2006. Why this presence?
M: Last year, I wanted to discover this very hard and very rich universe at the same time. People who live in this salon only live for the time of the salon.
Anecdotally, the “God PAN” character, the one disguised as a devil with a huge phallus in front of him, who moves around on stilts during the salon, is a mechanic once he’s removed his makeup and costume. It’s this whole paradox that I tried to discover last year and understand (as a critical mind on the “woman as object”) how these women from the X industry can live in this environment.
This year, it’s part of my reflection after having also observed and been invited to the EROTICA Salon in Lille this winter to bring them the painting I created with a “paintbrush-dildo” last year that was sold for the benefit of Sida Info Service..
NP: What will be your performance at the salon?
M: The actresses will participate in my latest performance “Tired of,” They will simply express their own “Tired of.”
For example, “Tired of orgies” could be funny!! And it would be the first time you could see an X actress in an art gallery with a real artistic and contemporary reflection behind it…
NP: If I say “Tired of”… what do you say?
M: I reply, Tired of my EX!!!! Tired of politics!!! Tired of Being Treated Like a Dog (M.E.T.C.U.C), these photos will be unveiled during the inauguration of this “web performance” on Friday, October 6 at the FERRERO Gallery in Nice (2, rue du congrès).
The principle: The principle of “Tired of” is very simple… It is an Internet site where you can, for 1€, record and publish your sentence “I’m tired of…” and illustrate it with a photo. The best “Tired of” entries will receive awards, and the winner will receive a sum of money. At the FERRERO Gallery, you will be able to continuously see the photos of the 12 original “Tired of” created by the artist METCUC.

M: 5,784,096 slaps at the time of writing… That’s why I’m currently working with Virginie Broquet and Grégory Bottazzi on a different concept “Pipi-cauet.com”
