General Jean Noel NOUAUX, who has 40 years of service in the army and speaks at numerous universities on topics related to Defense, Geopolitics, Geo-strategy with a civil-military or scientific focus, will provide us with a concrete analysis of this major issue of nuclear energy.
This issue is indeed very controversial today. Decisions that align with the realities of the situation are imperative. However, the aspects of the problem to be considered are complex.
Thus, we can observe that at gas stations, just as in homes and businesses, the time of wasting energy without moderation is indeed over. By 2050, oil sources will be depleted, like those of natural gas. The only remaining fossil resource will be coal; much to the detriment of the ozone layer.
But by 2030, despite all efforts to conserve energy, consumption, on the contrary, is accelerating:
86% for oil, gas, and coal
7% for nuclear energy
7% for renewable energies.
Moreover, by 2050, we will also have to account for nearly 10 billion people and 3 million voracious automobiles!
Conclusion? Europeans have a choice: to exit nuclear energy or to develop it with all the associated risks.
But whatever their decision, they will have to pay the price for it…
