The Minister of Justice unveiled the contents of the law on the moralization of public life, which is expected to be presented on June 14 at a Cabinet meeting.
The Keeper of the Seals, Franรงois Bayrou, detailed this Thursday afternoon during a press conference the contents of the law on the moralization of public life.
The aim is to put an end to a system in which public responsibility is exempt from rules that everyone must adhere to.
3 main points:
1) Constitutional reform: no more than 3 terms, former presidents will no longer sit on the Constitutional Council, ministers will no longer hold local mandates, abolition of the Court of Justice of the Republic
2) Moralization of public life: prohibition of hiring family members, vigilance on conflicts of interest and regulation of consultancy activities, abolition of the parliamentary reserve.
