The end-of-year festivities are approaching… In the current context, to ensure the safety of the residents of Nice and its visitors, the existing security measures will be strengthened with joint Municipal Police/National Police brigades dedicated to monitoring shopping centers, by refocusing the Municipal Police officers’ duties on the city center.
Additionally, the Sentinel Operation is still in effect with several military patrols present in the city center and in sensitive areas.
Starting this weekend, Municipal Police officers will be deployed in high-traffic locations such as Jean-Mรฉdecin Avenue, Verdun Avenue, the pedestrian area, Paradis, Alphonse Karr, and Longchamps streets, as well as Notre Dame and Lรฉpante, the Nice Etoile shopping center, Niceโs commercial avenues such as Borriglione or Rรฉpublique, and of course the Christmas Village that will open its doors on December 4th.
Every day, from 9 AM to 10 PM, these officers will be specifically assigned to these areas, with the goals of: securing shopkeepers, reminding people of the security measures to be implemented, providing a reassuring presence for customers and walkers, and heightening attention and vigilance.
There will also be increased Municipal Police presence in parks and gardens, especially during times when parents usually take their children for a walk in those areas: Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons, as well as during the Christmas school holidays.
