From September 28 to 30, an impressive gathering of bright minds from all corners of the globe will create an event. “Mouginov’” is the first innovation and invention fair in the region. It will take place in Mougins, at the “Eco’Parc,” where the public can discover prototypes, quirky projects, and quite possibly the consumer products of tomorrow. Here’s a closer look at a fair ready to surprise you!
After the “Festival of Gastronomy” and the delightful surprise it provided for taste buds, Mougins is now set to dazzle your eyes with “Mouginov’.” The city, strengthened by the establishment of France’s largest technology park, Sophia Antipolis, is also pursuing “an innovation policy,” as highlighted by Richard Galy, the mayor of Mougins. This innovation policy has led to the creation of the Eco’Parc, where the event will take place.
For three days, you will be surprised by Christian Boizard and his noise-insulated toilets, intrigued by Denis Thevenin and his 360-degree mirror, or interested in Gérard Roquillon and his solar freezer. The latter is the President of Europe France Inventors and is the one who has gathered all these great creatives from around the world to exhibit in Mougins.
While people from all over the world will be present, it is worth noting that “the French are the inventors of the patent,” just as a reminder that France is a step ahead. But it’s not a competition; it’s a fair that will showcase the entire innovation chain: prototypes, concepts, brands, designs, as well as tangible innovations with patented inventions and pre-production series (editor’s note: products already being marketed).
As for young people who might have ended their geek careers to develop an invention, they are welcome. Adocréator is the competition reserved for them, with a prize of 1,000 euros.
For adults, a Leonardo da Vinci EFI Trophy for Ecological Invention and Innovation will be awarded to three winners, each of whom will receive 2,000 euros to further their dream of realization. Visitors will also serve as judges and award the Public’s Choice Prize to the invention of the year.
For the great enthusiasts who have applied their brains to consumer needs, this exhibition is a source of pride and the result of limitless passion.
Raoul Parienti is an entrepreneur and a world-renowned and recognized inventor. He holds 150 registered patents, won the President of the Republic Prize at the 2010 Lépine Competition, and has received many other equally honorable awards. He will be at the fair to present, among other things, the “Starpress,” a mirror that instantly transforms into a steam ironing station. An object that may seem unusual but which positions him as one of the region’s great researchers.
For this happy inventor, an innovation must be “useful” and address the “economic crisis the country is going through.” He, who frequently attends the world’s greatest fairs of this kind, is proud of the birth of “Mouginov’” and “the closeness it will foster.” This great idealist wants “to advance things” and encourages young people to “believe in their lucky star.”
So passionate is he that Raoul Parienti, along with his fellow researchers, has created the CDM (Mediterranean Discovery Center), an organization aiming to transform patented concepts into real prototypes ready for commercialization to “improve” everyday life.
Lastly, Régis Colin is the inventor of the “P.T.L,” otherwise known as the “side carry-all,” a state-of-the-art luggage carrier for scooters. This idea, which took shape during a vacation in Corsica, is the result of a “need” he observed. An unusual story that proves anyone can become the inventor of tomorrow; it just requires letting creativity run wild and maintaining an eco-friendly dynamic.
