General Council member since 1994 and a fervent opponent of the current mayor, Jacques Peyrat, Jean Icart had initially hinted at the possibility of running in the next Nice municipal election, but the candidacy of Christian Estrosi left him little room to maneuver, and he will ultimately join the fight alongside his President under the sole banner of Nice.
“I will from now on be by Christian Estrosi’s side in the immense task that awaits him, and will bring my expertise in territorial planning, which he has already acknowledged by adopting my projects, both for the Port of Nice and for transportation.” The pact is thus truly sealed between the two men from Nice; what remains to be seen is the place that Jean Icart will secure on a well-stocked “Nice Together” list.
