In the context of the National Day of Arts and Culture in higher education on Thursday, April 10, the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is organizing, in partnership with the Nice Côte d’Azur Opera and the Compagnie des Délices, several cultural and festive events open to all on the Valrose and Carlone campuses.
The national day of arts and culture was jointly initiated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture; it stems from the framework agreement “University, place of culture” signed on July 12, 2013, in Avignon by the two ministers and Jean-Loup Salzmann, President of the Conference of University Presidents. This initiative aims to support and promote the cultural and artistic practices of students and the university community.
The “Day of Arts and Culture” at the university is an opportunity to mobilize all universities, associations, and students to position French campuses as places of transmission, dissemination, and cultural and artistic creation.
As part of this day, the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis is organizing several cultural and artistic events throughout the day:
Between 12 PM and 2 PM – THEATRE – Parvis of the Carlone campus
Trench Cabaret by the Compagnie des Délices
4 PM – GUIDED VISIT – Park and Grand Château of Valrose
Valrose, home of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the Faculty of Sciences: a university heritage at the heart of arts and culture by Dominique Laredo, historian.
8:30 PM – SYMPHONIC CONCERT – Theatre of the Grand Château of Valrose
Musical journey through the decade of 1935-1945. Music by Copland, Rota, and Gibbs by the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Frédéric Deloche.
