Solutions to Facilitate Travel
To offset these travel difficulties and allow Nice residents to park peacefully, Christian Estrosi has decided to implement free on-street parking for the day.
Additionally, the Metropolis has also set up an online carpooling system, in which each trip is subsidized. This will help limit traffic and support purchasing power.
Through the Klaxit smartphone app, the Metropolis funds carpooled trips at a rate of โฌ0.10 per km, up to โฌ200 per month. For example, for a 10 km trip, the Metropolis funds โฌ1 on a total amount of โฌ1.50 received by the carpooler, leaving only 50 cents for the passenger to pay.
You can download the Klaxit app now, which will connect you with carpoolers and passengers throughout their daily routes.
