Nouvelles, the School of Journalism in Nice, opens its doors to the public, on Saturday, March 17, 2007, from 10 AM to 6 PM
The Nouvelles School spans over 500 m² of professional premises in the heart of Nice, close to the Riquier train station and the Saint-Jean d’Angély university campus. Since its inception, 15 graduating classes have been mentored by notable figures such as Louis Pauwels, Jean Daniel, Jacqueline Baudrier, Michel Bassi, Ivan Levaï, Claude Sérillon, Michèle Cotta, Paul Amar, Alain Duhamel, Franz-Olivier Giesbert, Philippe Bouvard, Christine Ockrent, Arlette Chabot, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, Jean-François Kahn, Marine Jacquemin in 2007, and Serge Moati in 2008!
Many former students are now employed in both French and international media. 450 alumni hold significant positions such as Presenters on LCI, Reporters at Europe 1, Editorial Secretaries at Nice-Matin, and Journalists in the Economics section at Le Figaro, etc.
Starting September 2007, there will be a new integrated preparatory course for high school graduates.
During the Open House Days, students will demonstrate their many skills in the practice of journalism.
Visitors will be able to:
– Talk with students and meet the teachers,
– Visit the studios and classrooms,
– Discover new information technologies,
– Watch live radio and television news every half hour,
– Participate in the creation of a newspaper,
– Attend a conference on how our school adapts to changes in the profession at 3 PM,
– Explore www.curieux.net, the first news magazine entirely written by students as part of their coursework,
