In front of more than 350 assembled residents, Christian Estrosi presented a new series of projects. Objective: to enhance the quality of life and public services in the neighborhoods of Libération, Borriglione, Le Ray, and Saint-Maurice. A program of works estimated at over 10 million euros.
Christian Estrosi reminded us that these neighborhoods have already been the subject of significant investments in recent years. Le Ray Park, Jeanne d’Arc Garden, the AnimaNice La Maioun dóu Rai center, and the renovation of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux Square have initiated a visible transformation. A new stage is starting with projects focused on everyday uses.
The roadways receive particular attention. Vernier and Dijon streets will be completely redone with reinforced roadways. Joseph Garnier Boulevard will see a requalification of the sidewalks over more than 4,000 m². This operation includes accommodations for people with reduced mobility.
Another planned project is Alexandre Médecin Square. Situated between Borriglione and Le Ray Park, it will be redesigned to limit traffic and enlarge the central square. Two options are submitted to residents for voting. One proposes a moderate extension, while the other envisions a deeper transformation, including a reorganization of traffic around the square.
Greening remains a strong focus. Thiole Garden, located between Malausséna and Villermont, will be expanded with the planting of 22 trees and the creation of a new playground. A secure pedestrian pathway is also planned.
Facilities to enhance local life
Several projects concern local services. The site of the former Carrefour Gorbella will be transformed into a leisure space open to all generations. A selection process is underway to determine the activity to be developed there.
On the cultural front, the « Lou Mesclun » performance hall, integrated into the Maïoun dóu Rai, reopens its doors following renovation work. It will host shows, concerts, and community events starting in the fall of 2025.
A new dojo, dedicated to martial arts and youth, will be delivered in September 2025 on the site of the former Ray stadium. It will include four combat areas, changing rooms, and bleachers.
Finally, schools and daycares in the sector will continue to benefit from modernization work. At Ray-Gorbella School, the installation of shaded areas and the creation of a multipurpose room are planned. A new private daycare will open on Marceau Street in 2026.
“Every euro invested is designed to improve the daily lives of our citizens, enhance the attractiveness of these neighborhoods, and build a more sustainable and more inclusive future,” concluded Christian Estrosi.
