Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice, and Keqing LIU, Mayor of Xiamen (a city with 4 million inhabitants located in the southeast of China), signed the twinning agreement between the two cities in the presence of the Consul General of China for southeast France, Jinsong YU.
The signing took place as part of the events organized around the fiftieth anniversary of Franco-Chinese diplomatic relations yesterday evening at the Opรฉra de Nice Cรดte d’Azur, alongside the “Stars of China” concert.
The two cities first established connections on the cultural and educational fronts, notably with a twinning between their two universities in the early 1980s, and currently, they aim to develop economic exchanges.
