Theme: “to be and to have the right to…”

Through various cultural, sensory, artistic, and playful awakening activities, children aged 2 to 6 will have the pleasure of:

  • choosing a workshop,
  • discovering other cultures,
  • respecting their environment,
  • sharing their origins by bringing an object, a costume, or a musical instrument from here or elsewhere,
  • transmitting (with their parents) a message, a song, or a nursery rhyme in their native language.

The goal is to give children, during a week, the experience of culture in all its forms; by singing, dancing, painting, and having fun cheerfully!

Hours: 3 workshops of 2h per day: from 8 am to 10 am / from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm

  • Workshop on “the right to expression”

Theme: L’Escale, a youth reception and listening point, works with children from Château school and Moulins school (5th-grade classes) and offers them a work of reflection on the “right to expression”.

  • Raising children’s awareness of their rights in early childhood facilities

Theme: the actions taken within the facilities aim both to make the Convention on the Rights of the Child known to parents of children in the establishment, to sensitize children to their rights by finding words adapted to their understanding and to allow professionals to continue their reflection on the respect of the child. It will be about promoting, in various ways and playfully (creative workshops, painting, exhibitions, performances, tales, creating a fresco, making a garland of flags from around the world, …), the rights of the child that take on meaning and life within these establishments and reception services.
Location: in the 17 Early Childhood establishments and in the branches of the sectors of the Family Nursery.

  • Raising awareness among children about their rights in Nice schools

Theme: Nurses from the School Health Service will intervene with the students of Nice schools and offer them interactive games on the theme of the rights of the child.

  • Exhibition of Plastic Poetry created by elementary school children in Nice

Theme: from October 8 to 13, during the week on Tales and Poetry, at the Associations Space, children played with words and colors, wrote a message of love, hope, or anger, imagined a character, dreamed, traveled…

  • Photo exhibition:
    “the right to be different and the difference of rights”

Theme: Two opposing photo exhibitions.
One presented by the Abanera Association showcases the daily life in Nicaragua and other poor countries where children live in huts and attend school in uniform. Their class is sparse, only small chairs are placed on beaten earth.
The other presented by the La Semeuse association presents these same children from the world born in Nice in various events organized to awaken them to citizenship, leisure.

  • Drawing and text competition on the rights to Education and Leisure

Theme: children welcomed at the Leisure and Animation Center of Moulins and the Sports and Leisure Centre of Saint Augustin will participate in a drawing and text competition on the rights to education and the right to leisure. All the works will be subject to an exhibition and a festive snack will be offered to the children.

Theme: Accredited private childminders debate around the importance of the words addressed to the child, the weight of words even for the very young.

– Debate with parents around a UNICEF film

Theme: The associations 4A, ATE, ANCB, and the Family Allowance Fund offer parents in the Ariane neighborhood an afternoon with the projection of a UNICEF film, allowing for exchanges about child labor worldwide, to the detriment of their health and education.

Theme: The National Association for Intellectually Precocious Children will demonstrate during a debate that discrimination is truly linked to the way one approaches difference. A child can be failing in school, violent towards himself because misunderstood. Since 1969, this association has been working for the defense of the best interests of the child in the respect he is owed to recognize his particularity as a child.

Theme: Within the framework of Melanoma and Early Cataracts Prevention, the ENES-IDHA team will address the Benefits and Harms of the Sun.  Afternoon Shows at Ariane

Theme: UNICEF presents a film on the protection of children against violence, abuse, and discrimination followed by a debate with parents and children attending this afternoon. The association “Les Alizées” will sing on the theme of peace and the child and a group of children from Ariane will present dances and songs. Children from street animation (DCAL) will express themselves on the rights of the child through sketches.
ADSEA will accompany a group of 5th-grade children from Jacques Prévert school to showcase its work done during the week.
Exhibition and inauguration of the bird created throughout the week, bringing together all the works (feathers of writing and drawings) done by children and adults from APPESE, ANCB, ATE, and Hors Les Murs Library associations.
