For the second edition of the New Jazz Festival, Imago Records & Production offers you a range of artistic projects centered around contemporary jazz. A very diverse jazz, made up of innovative compositions and alternative ideas. Between fusion, pop, rock, hip hop, bebop, world, soul, funk, chanson à texte… the mix of genres is celebrated.
Experience and the exploration of new musical horizons are the founding elements of this unique program. Two key highlights stand out with two international artists: John Cale, founder of the legendary Velvet Underground, and US3 known for their famous hip hop interpretations of Herbie Hancock.
Many local artists are also featured such as Seb Chaumont Experiences, a fusion of bebop and soul; Merakhaazan and Imbert Imbert, a night for two double basses; Maria Marolany with her choristers offering Negro Spiritual and World Music vibes; and the unifying project Women On Stage, bringing together the most talented jazz singers from Nice on the same stage, accompanied by the musicians of the Nice Jazz Orchestra.
The Festival also presents the rich lineup of the Cave Romagnan, one of the most legendary jazz venues in the region, as well as the opening of Mellotron, the new Jazz Club in Nice programmed by the Olodum Music association.
