Nice Carnival: What’s New?

Latest News

The entire carnival setup will be officially unveiled by the municipality and the Nice tourism office tomorrow, February 6th, five days before the festivities kick off.

The big day is approaching, the King of Energy will launch on February 11th. But this year, the parade will leave the Promenade des Anglais for the Promenade du Paillon. A change of route that is not without displeasing the Nice merchants.

This year, the Nice Carnival will parade between Place Masséna and Traverse Flandres Dunkerque with a planned route passing Boulevard Jean Jaurès and Avenue Félix Faure. A surprise that is not always to the liking of the merchants.

The Nice Carnival is not a trivial event and attracts more than a million onlookers each year. While it draws a large crowd, it also demands rigorous organization, particularly in terms of pedestrian and especially vehicle access. This access restriction often begins several hours before the parade. The new carnival route has thus required significant logistical work, particularly concerning the tramway.

Access to all businesses is planned as the carnival area will leave sidewalks and terraces available, states Rudy Salles, deputy at the Nice city hall.

The entire carnival setup will be officially unveiled by the municipality and the Nice tourism office tomorrow, February 6th, five days before the festivities kick off.
