Certainly!
After suffering 7 consecutive defeats, Nice Volleyball finally returned to victory against Montpellier, who were on a good streak.
Nice was far from being the favorite in this match against Montpellier, who were coming off a strong run with 4 consecutive victories, the last of which was against the champion Chaumontais team.
However, Nice started their match very seriously, quite different from their recent performances. Despite their determination, Kasic’s men were dominated in the first period (19-23) but managed to turn the tide and win the first set (26-24).
The first achievement for NVB was accomplished: taking a set from a team brimming with confidence. The Hérault team, likely offended, quickly took the lead in the 2nd set (1-4). But with their confidence restored, Nice came back to level the score (11-11) before taking the lead (16-15). Persistent, Montpellier tried in vain to catch up. Nice won the 2nd set and was guaranteed at least one point in the standings.
Stung, Montpellier started the 3rd set vigorously and scored the initial points (10-11). But from their strong position, Nice quickly regained control once again (16-13) and won the 3rd set, which signaled victory (25-20).
Nice Volleyball moves up one place (9th) and is now 2 points behind Sète (8th). They will head to Tourcoing (4th) in the next round, with the desire to continue their winning streak.
