7,645 AIDS cases have been reported in the PACA region since the start of the epidemic. It is the 2nd region in France affected by the epidemic: 12% of AIDS cases reported in France, while the PACA region accounts for 7.6% of the French population. The Alpes-Maritimes, with 2,938 AIDS cases, and the Bouches-du-Rhône, with 2,881 cases, represent the two departments most impacted by the epidemic in PACA.
Every year, the Alpes-Maritimes AIDS Fight Collective* organizes events around World AIDS Day to mobilize institutions, associations, and residents of Nice and its surroundings.
This year, from Monday, November 23 to Tuesday, December 1, the Collective will be at the Garibaldi Associations Space, with a major day on Saturday, November 28 on Garibaldi Square, culminating in World AIDS Day on Tuesday, December 1, featuring a significant solidarity gathering at 6:30 PM on Garibaldi Square, followed by a theatrical performance at the CAL de Bon Voyage.
