From Thursday, June 9 to Saturday, June 11, the third edition of the Nice Mont Ventoux bike challenge took place. In 3 stages, 30 business leaders covered 400 kilometers between the Promenade des Anglais and the legendary Mont Ventoux. The organizer, Jean-Baptiste Wiroth, reviews this edition.
” We managed to bring all participants to the top of Mont Ventoux ” states Jean-Baptiste Wiroth. ” Everything took place in a friendly atmosphere and under favorable weather conditions ” he adds.
Beyond cycling, this challenge also had a charitable purpose, as its organizer reminds us: ” we raised a few hundred euros for the association ‘Le Point Rose’ “.
Jean-Baptiste Wiroth also highlights the human aspect of this challenge. ” Everyone got involved in the challenge. Bonds were created within the group “.
The last point raised by the head of WTS (a company specializing in sports coaching) is that of learning. ” There was a double learning process among the participants. They learned about others and also about themselves ” he explains. ” Many pushed themselves to complete the three days of biking and to climb Mont Ventoux. They were not sure they could make it before setting off ” admits Jean-Baptiste Wiroth.
