The Christmas Village will also embrace the Olympic spirit with a chalet dedicated to Nice’s 2018 bid. During the month, Nice Côte d’Azur Ice Skating will offer demonstrations of Olympic disciplines such as curling and figure skating, as well as acrobatic exhibitions. Numerous activities, as detailed in the attached document, will enrich the village’s events throughout the duration of the festival.
The city of Nice will also be represented with a chalet showcasing the colors of its bid to host the 2018 Olympic Games. A major drawing contest themed around the Olympics mascot and the presence of prominent athletes will punctuate the days of festivities.
Some highlights of the month:
On the 13th at 3:30 PM: illumination of the Swedish Tree and celebrations of Saint Lucy’s Day.
On the 14th from 11 AM to 5 PM: Mountain Day followed by the inauguration of the Mountain House at 3 PM by Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of the General Council, who will visit the Mountain Day installations at 2 PM.
On the 14th at 4 PM: free Swedish concert at the Nice Opera House.
On the 16th from 6 PM to 7:15 PM: Philippe Candeloro and his students will perform on the ice rink of the Christmas Village. He will present characters from his career in various pieces. This performance is free and open to the public.
