Nice Premium is getting a makeover and arriving on mobile devices.

Latest News

To mark its tenth year of existence, Nice Premium has revamped itself and invites you to discover, starting Monday, November 1st, its new version still faithfully dedicated to news from Nice and the French Riviera, as well as its new mobile site, accessible on all types of smartphones (iPhone, BlackBerry, etc.) and tablets like the iPad. Crafted by the teams of Komunicom and Nice Premium, under the high patronage of Vincent Marty, this fourth version is undoubtedly the most accomplished. In line with new technologies, this presentation places images at the heart of the news and offers a privileged space for our journalists and partners (Edito du Psy, Paillon Premium, Journal des Associations, Espace Emploi, etc.).

np_home.jpg A homepage embracing Ajax technology for โ€œcleaner than cleanโ€ refreshes

With a brand-new scroll menu based on Ajax technology, allowing only specific parts of the site to refresh without getting lost in page load times. Internet users will be able to playfully scroll through the latest headlines in the left column. A simple click on the right image or its title will lead to the article. In general, efforts will be made on visuals. They will be larger and clearer. A server technology allows us to rework all images on the fly, giving them a defined size, automatically cropping them to make them much sharper.

An independent and participative news site that represents and unites you

Although the graphic design has completely changed, the layout of the pages remains the same so that our loyal readers can find their usual navigation habits (menu at the top, latest articles on the top left, editorials, and photo gallery on the right). The previous day’s and the day before’s articles remain at the bottom of the page. The technical goal for Komunicom has been to offer better-organized and clearer content by reducing the number of loads. Ajax has been injected massively to display content in a playful and fast manner. Accessing our articles summarizes our efforts on structure and graphics. The breadcrumb trail, allowing users to know their location on the site, is well visible above a very large title to adapt to current screens (16:9 and large size).

Dynamic and interactive articles

The author and the news site are highlighted by a discreet yet complete line, to learn everything about the article and emphasize its reliability. Is this article written by a Nice Premium journalist, or is it a press release? Is it an article honestly promoting an event or object, or is it advertorial content? If the author is “Press Release,” it comes from a communication agency. If itโ€™s “Advertorial,” it has been sold by Nice Premium’s advertising agency, Komunicom.

Another date appears in our articles: “updated.” A posted article can now be supplemented or modified depending on current events to provide the most reliable and precise information. This date will indicate to the author the day the article was modified.

A “React” link automatically leads to the bottom of the page towards the forum to share and express opinions. The forum form is now on the article page and no longer requires going to a different page to react. Internet users can also add their avatar to the forum if they have previously registered on the site www.gravatar.com. Otherwise, an image will be generated based on their email address, which will no longer be displayed on the site for security and confidentiality reasons. This new forum will be monitored and protected to prevent spam and insults. Insults will be replaced by MODERATED INSULT and spam by SPAM in cases of fraud.

These are the main new features for the new version of Nice Premium, officially launched this Monday, November 1st. An event not to be missed and, we hope, that will capture your attention and is now also accessible on your mobile phone at the same address.
