Without waiting for the implementation of the winter plan, the City of Nice, under the initiative of Joรซlle Martinaux, Deputy Delegate for Social Affairs and Solidarity, decided to strengthen its reception system for people without stable housing on Sunday, October 31, by opening 15 additional places due to the bad weather that occurred this weekend.
The presence of homeless people requires the implementation, in addition to the ordinary system, of increased vigilance and reinforced action organized within a specific reception, accommodation, and integration system for the winter period.
This system aims to reinforce the responses and means to ensure the protection of all individuals and/or families facing harsh climatic conditions.
This system, coordinated by the agents of the Communal Social Action Center, includes for each accommodated person: a dinner, a breakfast, access to showers, and listening and comfort.
These measures adopted this weekend by the city of Nice and its Communal Social Action Center aim to strengthen:
- The capacity for reception, accommodation, and integration of the most deprived,
- The continued implementation of the Enhanced Action Plan for the Homeless,
- The strengthening of social monitoring provided by first-contact services (outreach, reception and orientation, services 115, Social Emergency Services) in partnership with accommodation centers.
