The nationwide lockdown implemented on October 29 by the government forced non-essential businesses to close. This is the second time in less than six months that merchants have seen their turnover drop drastically. This is why a collective initiative has been established on social media.
The concept of click and collect is not new but is becoming increasingly widespread thanks to or because of the current health crisis. Greatly used by delivery companies and large retailers, it is now local shops that are adopting it to survive as best as they can in this very challenging year of 2020 for them.
The Facebook group was first created in 2008 under the name “Vide Grenier Nice 06” and was later renamed “SOUTIEN CLICK AND COLLECT nice 06” on November 2. In the about tab, it is specified that until the end of the lockdown it will only accept advertisements posted by merchants using click and collect. The goal is to spread our merchantsโ ads as widely as possible to allow all the people of Nice to make their purchases from their local merchants while respecting health regulations. This solidarity commitment has caught the eye of many buyers in the region as to this day (November 6), more than 3,200 people interact daily to develop their neighborhood and city of Niceโs shops. You can find all types of sales on the social network, from clothing to food services, including wine and lighting fixtures.
