Nice still can’t succeed at La Mosson.

The toll worsens again for the Gym against Montpellier at La Mosson. During a lackluster performance from Nice, Montpellier largely won 3-1 against OGC Nice.

Pressed from the start of the match by the Montpellier block, the Nice team was never able to free themselves from the pressure and suffered many dangerous chances, particularly through Delort and Laborde.

Orchestrated by Savanier, the team coached by Der Zakarian perfectly managed to trouble Nice and controlled the game from start to finish.

Thus, in the 18th minute, Montpellier was logically rewarded. On a cross from right to left, Delort headed the ball to Laborde at the penalty spot, who delivered an unstoppable powerful half-volley past Benitez.

At halftime, Nice was trailing by a single goal but showed no signs of revolt.

Unfortunately, the second half started at the same pace as the first, with Montpellier being very enterprising and scoring two more goals.

Montpellier’s defender, Daniel Congré, scored a double.
The first was a header from a corner taken by Savanier (50th minute).
The second came after a thunderbolt shot from Ribic was urgently parried by Benitez, and the defender only had to finish it off (64th minute).

Finally, the Gym reacted at the end of the match after Gouiri’s entrance into the game, showing danger as soon as he came in.
Thus, Dante, on the receiving end of a cross from the young international, reduced the deficit (69th minute).

But it wasn’t enough, and the Gym logically fell 3-1 against Montpellier.

A much better performance will be needed next week for the reception of the reigning champion PSG.
