Nissa has its currency: folklore or a new path for commerce?

Latest News

On Thursday, September 28th at noon, history took a step forward: the launch of the Nissa Local Currency was announced by Cristรฒu Daurore, president of the Republic of Nissa, and Ciril Joanin, president of the Federal Occitan Republic, who presented the last two banknotes of 50 and 100 NISSARTS.

For them, this marks the end of a cycle: In 2016, they introduced the Charter of the Nissa Local Currency, developed with the participating merchants, craftsmen, and associations.

Even earlier, in 2015, they had already presented the project and the banknotes of 1 to 20 Nissarts.

All of this took place during the 4th National Day of the Republic of Nissa, which honors the Dedication of Nissa to Savoy in 1388.

Here are the subjects of the NISSART banknotes, the Nissa Local Currency:

– 100 banknote, featuring the author of the hymn Nissa la Bรจla: Menica Rondelly
– 50 banknote, the hero Barbet: Lalin Fulconis
– 20 banknote, the heroine: Catarina Segurana
– 10 banknote, the hero: Pepin Garibaldi
– 5 banknote, the writer: Jousรจp-Rosalindo Rancher
– 2 banknote: the Ratapinhata
– 1 banknote: the Nissarda Eagle

The promoters explain that there will be parity between the Nissa Local Currency and the Euro, and euro cent coins will also be used for the Local Currency. The participating merchants, craftsmen, and associations will commit to respecting the Charter of the Nissart.

The exchange from Euro to NISSART Local Currency will be conducted by these participants, and the banknotes will be valid only during the operation period (in December 2017).

Quick response.
