The High Authority of the Republicans has validated the election of Eric Ciotti as president of the Alpes-Maritimes Federation of the Republicans, the most important in the party, in a statement published this Friday.
During the party’s internal elections, which were held on October 13 and 14 via electronic voting, irregularities were found in the three secondary elections that were meant to elect the delegates of the federation president in the Nice constituencies.
This decision strengthens Eric Ciotti’s grip on power ahead of the upcoming electoral deadlines.
It remains to be seen whether the “estrosistes,” who were the complainants and are penalized by this decision, will rally behind the new party president, whose political line they do not share, or if they will organize as an internal opposition force.
