The photo contest titled “Objective Under the Sea,” which was supposed to end at the end of September, is now extended until the end of the year.
Organized with the support of the departmental committee of the French Federation for Underwater Studies and Sports and the “Environment and Underwater Biology” commission, this contest aims to compile an atlas of the biodiversity of the Cรดte d’Azur.
Set up by the Nice Cรดte d’Azur metropolis, with the support of the French Biodiversity Office, it aims to enhance the consideration of the most sensitive coastal areas. From Cagnes-sur-Mer to Cap d’Ail, the goal is to better guide the protection and ecological restoration work.
The contest will simultaneously show the public images of underwater fauna and flora to convey an ecological message.
“Objective Under the Sea” is open to everyone. The winner will be the one who accumulates the most points according to a very precise scale. If a participant is the only one to have captured an image of a species, they will receive the maximum point (100). However, if multiple photographers submit images of the same species, the points will be shared among them. This encourages contestants to find the rare gem and spend time exploring the seabed.
Reminder of the terms:
- The contest is open to everyone until December 31, 2020, midnight.
- Photos must be taken on the metropolitan coastline from Cagnes-sur-Mer to Cap d’Ail.
