Even though the Azurean board initially focused on departures during this winter transfer window, the Gym announced its first arrival this Wednesday.
A few days ago, we introduced you to the versatile Burundian Youssouf Ndayishimiye. This Wednesday evening, the 24-year-old player officially joined OGC Nice from Istanbul Başakşehir. On its Twitter account, the Azurean club announced the arrival of the international player with 17 caps and revealed his number: 55.
“Youssouf is a versatile player, capable of playing as a central defender and in midfield,” explains Florent Ghisolfi, the Gym’s sporting director, before adding: “He will add depth to the squad. He is a complete player. He is very committed and competitive. He matches the values and identity we want to instill in our team.”
OGC Nice’s general manager, Fabrice Bocquet, explained the reasons for this acquisition. “Youssouf’s arrival serves a dual purpose: to perform well in the second half of the season and to prepare for the future. We have great prospects and common challenges: he has our full confidence, and we welcome him warmly!”
After completing his medical examination yesterday afternoon, Youssouf Ndayishimiye was able to join his new teammates for a first collective training session this Thursday morning.
