OGC Nice vs. Brest: Last home game at the Allianz before the World Cup

Latest News

Matchday 14 of Ligue 1: OGC Nice hosts Stade Brestois for its last home game before the World Cup.

After the victory at Lorient (1-2) and the qualifying draw in Cologne (2-2), the Gym seems to have finally started its season. To confirm these two good results, the team from Nice will face Brest, who are eighteenth in the league.

With only two wins since the start of the championship, SB29 is experiencing difficult times. On October 11th, the Finistère club even announced the dismissal of its coach, Michel Der Zakarian. Since then, Bruno Grougi has taken over the red and white bench. In the last two Brest matches, Grougi’s methods have been noted and have helped gain 4 points. Like Nice, Brest is just getting into its season and will also be eager to continue with a good result.

For this match, Brest will visit Nice without Islam Slimani; the top scorer in the history of the Algerian national team is suspended for this match. However, a forward will be returning to the group, Steve Mounie, who hasn’t played since September 18th. Starting goalkeeper Marc Bizot and former Nice player Pierre Lees-Melou will also return. Having played for the Gym between 2017 and 2021, he had gained the affection of the Nice public and will surely receive applause.

The match will kick off at 3 PM this Sunday, with referee Jérémy Stinat officiating. He has already refereed a Gym match this season, having been in charge during the Aiglons’ victory over Lille (1-2) on August 31st.

Probable lineups:

OGC Nice: Schmeichel, Atal, Todibo, Dante, Bryan – Boudaoui, Rosario, Lemina, Brahimi – Pépé, Laborde

SB29: Bizot – Fadiga, Chardonnet, Brassier, Duverne – Camara, Magnetti – Del Castillo, Pereira Lage, Honorat – Le Douaron
