On October 20th, the Galerie l’Entrepôt and Monaco Telecom launched the “Open des Artistes de Monaco,” a competition open to visual artists from the Principality.
It was a successful bet, with more than sixty artists registering for this contest, letting their imagination run wild on the theme “Happy as Ulysses…”
Since mid-January, internet users have been able to “virtually” discover the creations on the l’Entrepôt’s website [www.lentrepot-monaco.com](https://www.lentrepot-monaco.com). Paintings, photos, collages, drawings, and sculptures, the artists have each, in their own way, interpreted the poem by Joachim du Bellay.
An online vote by internet users, as well as a jury composed of personalities from the art world (200,000 page views in one week!), has allowed nearly 30 artists to be selected based on the following criteria: adherence to the theme, originality, visual and emotional impact.
The artworks are now exhibited from February 3rd to 25th, 2011, at the Galerie l’Entrepôt. At the end of these three weeks, the jury will designate the winners. Each winner will have their work featured on the cover of the Official Directories of the Principality’s 2011 edition (Yellow Pages, White Pages, and Collector), along with a personal exhibition for the winner of the Open Prize.
