During the first half of June, across France, all the stakeholders in organic farming mobilize for the national fortnight of information and promotion of products from organic farming.
For fifteen days, French regions will experience the rhythm of activities organized by organic farming actors to raise awareness among the public about the techniques, practices, principles, and values of this environmentally friendly production method.
It is according to the rhythm of the seasons that the organic farmers of the highlands of Nice work, which is why after the winter break, activity resumes vigorously in the gardens and stables.
On Saturday, June 9, and Sunday, June 10, 2012, 13 organic farms in the Alpes-Maritimes will open their doors to the public.
Discover local organic production, taste products, enjoy enriching activities, and engage in exchanges with the farmers!
Whether alone, with family, or in a group, this event is an opportunity to explore organic farming practices and deepen your knowledge through various activities offered by the partner farms.
Organic product tastings (wines, olive oils, fruits and vegetables, bread…), workshop visits (basketry, cheese-making, distillery…), picking (vegetables, aromatic and medicinal plants, wild plants, flowers…), pony rides, cooperative games, and concerts are on the weekend’s menu.
The main goal of this event is to facilitate meetings between organic farmers and citizens. It provides an opportunity for everyone to find answers to questions about organic farming: what are its production techniques and values? Why do farmers choose to engage in organic farming? What are the guarantees of the organic production mode?
This regional event is part of the “Organic Spring,” a national information campaign on the organic sector.
