Activation of ozone pollution emergency measures – Level 1 from Monday, August 20, 2012, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM
It is advised that vulnerable individuals (elderly people, pregnant women, young children, people with respiratory and heart problems…) also limit their movements, especially during the hottest hours, and avoid intense physical exertion.
In the territory of the city of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, specific measures will be implemented from the end of today:
Information to the public on all variable message boards, on the websites www.nice.fr and www.nicecotedazur.org, as well as on social networks (Facebook and Twitter);
Raising awareness among municipal and metropolitan agents to limit their travel and to be more vigilant towards the most vulnerable individuals they come into contact with (in early childhood establishments and elderly care institutions, people encountered during their awareness-raising mission on beaches and in gardens – seasonal employees of the Heatwave Brigade, for example, etc.)
