Organized by the dynamic association led by Magali BARNOIN, the fourth edition of CoartJazz will take place from August 22 to 26. The COARTJAZZ adventure is first and foremost a story of passion that began in 2009!
A musical and human encounter, it’s truly an immersion into jazz for 5 days, out of time, in the architectural and natural setting of the small village of COARAZE.
COARTJAZZ is a musical academy first, before being a festival. An academy with the ambition of bringing together great jazz musicians with the main objectives of education, transmission, and sharing.
Great by talent as much as by humanity and generosity, 8 international artists have accepted this year’s invitation from the association:
Tina MAY (vocals), Fred HERSCH and Giovanni MIRABASSI (piano), Olivier LOUVEL (guitar), Stéphane CHAUSSE (saxophone and clarinet), Dominique DI PIAZZA (bass), Matthieu CHAZARENC (drums), David AMAR (musical training).
The first edition took place in 2009, bringing together around twenty trainees. A lot has been achieved since then, as this year 8 classes are open, welcoming around sixty trainees from all over the world…
Traditionally and since its inception, the association aims to complement this meeting between musicians, whether they are amateurs or professionals, with an encounter with the public. Because the goal is indeed to promote jazz and broaden its audience.
The association thus offers, at the end of the academy, two free access concerts featuring the artists participating in the academy.

Sunday, August 26, 2012, at 9 PM, Piovano field: The stars of COARTJAZZ, Closing concert with all the participating artists.
A children’s initiation class, led by Freddy ROUX, is also open on Sunday, August 26, 2012 (9:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
