Paris-Nice: Final Day of Battle or Parade?

Latest News

The penultimate stage featured the highest finish in the history of the event, at the Col de la Couillole, 1678 meters above sea level.

The challenge was up to the climbing talents of Richie Porte, with the Australian proving to be the essential mountaineer of Paris-Nice. He left behind all the race favorites with whom he battled during the climb to the Col de la Couillole.

Julian Alaphilippe was dropped from contention 10.5 km from the finish, as was Tony Gallopin, leaving the battle for the yellow jersey to be decided among Sergio Henao, Dan Martin, and Alberto Contador. Advantage Colombia, their national champion donned the yellow jersey, with a 30-second lead over Dan Martin and 31 seconds over Alberto Contador.
