Candidates’ declarations must be submitted for each round of voting by the candidate, their replacement, or by an agent holding a mandate issued by the candidate for this purpose, at the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, elections office, (7th floor) prefecture building – departmental administrative center – route de Grenoble in Nice, on the following dates and times:
– for the 1st round of voting:
from Monday, November 17 to Friday, November 21, 2008, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
– for the 2nd round of voting:
from Monday, December 8 to Tuesday, December 9, 2008, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
All submitters must verify their identity. The conditions for candidacy and eligibility are identical to those of the general cantonal elections of March 9 and 16, 2008.
All voters from the concerned cantons, registered on the electoral lists finalized on February 29, 2008, as well as those who reached the age of eighteen between February 29, 2008, and December 6, 2008, registered by the magistrate of the district court, are eligible to vote.
To vote by proxy, in case of impediment as specified by the current legislation, voters must contact the district court, the police station, or the gendarmerie brigade in their place of residence or work, verifying their identity and the reasons for their absence with a simple declaration on honor.
