On Saturday evening, there were happy men watching the delighted faces of spectators leaving the Roger Hodgson concert. Patrice Bouchon and his team have just succeeded in their challenge, and Crazy Week has taken another big step forward in the world of music festivals.
The bar was set very high during this 2012 edition of Crazy Week, which saw Mika, Julien Doré, Dyonisos, Shaka Ponk, and Roger Hodgson of Supertramp take the stage at the Théâtre de Verdure in Nice, for a week praised by audiences thrilled by the various nights.
At the heart of this success is one man, Patrice Bouchon, and a team he graciously always mentions in his interviews. A titanic effort for an equally titanic result since no major issues were reported during the five days of festivities.
Nice Premium met Patrice just at the end of the festival, and the smile on his face says it all: Mission accomplished!
NP: Happy audiences, unanimous press, and satisfied artists. What more can you ask for?
PB: Honestly: Nothing! This 2012 edition went ideally. Moreover, the weather was kind to us. Not a drop of rain nor a cloud…
NP: Which evening stood out to you the most?
PB: In fact, a little bit of all of them, as each night had its own “color.” If I have to choose, though, I would pick two: Shaka Ponk, which in my view is the best French rock band at the moment, and then Roger Hodgson, of whom I’ve been a fan for over 25 years!
NP: The anecdote of the 2012 version of Crazy Week?
PB: It’s always very complicated to pick one anecdote among the many that the festival contains… Moreover, the whole team experienced intense moments, which will become wonderful memories. And we all wish to keep our little secret garden…
Nice Premium: And finally, will Patrice push the “Bouchon” a bit further next year?
Patrice Bouchon: I’ve been working for more than two months on the 2013 edition. As of today, I can’t announce anything, but there will be changes… My appetite makes me want to have two stages, or just a larger one. But we can also stick with the current setup, which is very popular.
In any case, I am considering several options…
