This Saturday, millions of Europeans will participate in hundreds of demonstrations across the continent against nationalism, for a united, democratic, and supportive Europe.
Today, nationalism is making a comeback. Intolerance is gaining strength. Hatred is spreading, and violence is becoming a daily occurrence. Fear of others and foreigners is being fueled and turned into political capital. There is a longing for strong men.
The rule of law is eroding. Hard-won social achievements and rights are under threat. Freedom and peace are no longer a given.
