On Friday, November 12, 2010, starting at 2:00 PM in the Apollon Auditorium at the Palais Acropolis in Nice, 1,446 students representing 23 middle schools (*) from the department will attend an educational concert of the work “The Rite of Spring” by composer Igor Stravinsky, performed by the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra.
An afternoon full of discoveries
During this session, the conductor will engage in dialogue with the students, present the musicians’ work, and offer them singing exercises based on the piece. Finally, at the end, an exchange will be possible between the students and the musicians of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra.
Since October 6th, a work session with music teachers registered for this event has enabled preparation with the students since that date.
The 6th edition of “C’est pas classique” will be held at the Palais Acropolis from November 12th to 14th, offering more than a hundred free concerts. For three days, young and old alike will be invited to freely wander through the performance halls to discover classical music in all its forms, from piano recitals to performances by a philharmonic orchestra.
