The National Front โ Rassemblement Bleu Marine has published its Charter outlining the preliminary principles for future agreements with “individuals or organizations” for the upcoming municipal elections in March.
This was an opportunity for Philippe Vardon, leader of Nissa Rebela, to revive his proposal for an alliance to present voters with a united front capable of challenging the likely success of Christian Estrosi in the 2014 municipal elections.
“I donโt see any point on which I or the movement I lead could disagree within this common-sense charter. We also find conditions that I myself had mentioned on June 26 during the nomination of the FN-RBM candidate for Nice: assertion of identity and rejection of communitarianism, a return to security, and the restoration of fair taxation.”
His motto, โunity is strength,โ suggests the possibility or desire for an alliance, even if it means downscaling ambitions! If this does not happen, it cannot be attributed to his lack of tenacity.
It is high time โ now six months before the elections! โ to end petty quarrels, partisan selfishness, pseudo-ideological excuses, or grudges. All those who identify with this charter must now come together and outline a common project. I am obviously thinking first and foremost of Jacques Peyrat, Marie-Christine Arnautu, and myself; especially since all three of us supported the same candidate in the last presidential election: Marine Le Pen.”
Will the call be heard by the National Front?
