“Pink October, human chain in the gardens of the Alpes-Maritimes Department”

The Alpes-Maritimes Department organized a human chain yesterday at noon in the department’s gardens as part of the Pink October campaign, a national month of mobilization for breast cancer screening.

For reference: Each year, 54,000 new cases of cancer are detected in France, and 12,000 women die from it. When detected early, 90% of breast cancers are cured. In the Alpes-Maritimes, 188,000 women are eligible for screening, but only 42% participate. The goal is to reach 50% participation.
