The Pink Parade of Nice takes place every year in July since 2004. This Saturday, July 18, the Nice parade will have the motto: “Same duties, same rights: Turn promises into acts.”
This parade in Nice gathers homosexuals, trans people, bisexuals, but not only them. Many gay-friendly heterosexuals join the convoy to partake in this event advocating for equality.
Organizations are also present (organizing enterprise Aglae, LGBT, ADN, Amnesty International…), to support and try to influence behaviors and laws regarding non-heterosexual couples.
To the sound of electronic music blasted by powerful speakers, the parade will start at 4 PM on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Avenue, at the level of the Tête carrée. It will then move along Félix Faure Avenue, Verdun Avenue, the Promenade des Anglais, Phocéens Avenue, then Jean Jaurès Avenue, and finally return towards the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
People celebrate and advocate for causes such as the right to same-sex marriage, adoption, homoparentality… or simply for equality and respect.
