After a first defeat on May 25 at home against SIG Strasbourg (87-100), AS Monaco equalized in the quarter-finals by winning away at the Rhénus, with a score of 95 to 97.
This Saturday, May 28, AS Monaco fought a decisive battle for qualification to the Betclic Elite semi-finals. Indeed, after losing the first game, the Monégasque team was trailing 1-0 in this quarter-final against a very in-form Strasbourg team. Victory was the only option for the Principality’s team if they wanted to continue their journey in the Betclic Elite playoffs.
A successful gamble for AS Monaco, which, after a very contested game (78-78 at the end of the 4th quarter), claimed victory in overtime thanks to a fiery Mike James (30 points including 13 in overtime – 20 evaluation points). James had been absent in the first game due to a hand injury.

AS Monaco thus re-enters the race for the Betclic Elite semi-finals, thanks notably to a good shooting percentage on 2-point shots (61.9%) and also to the American players Will Thomas and Alpha Diallo, who scored 20 and 17 points, respectively, in this game.
Despite the defeat, we can still highlight the strong performances of point guard John Roberson (25 points) and power forward Amine Noua (17 points – 62.5% success rate on 3-pointers), which were not enough to overcome the Rock’s team.
AS Monaco and SIG Strasbourg are therefore tied (1-1) in this Betclic Elite quarter-final. The winner of the third and final game will qualify for the semi-finals against the team of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. The last match of this series will take place in Monaco, at the Salle Gaston Médecin, on May 30.
