Following the shooting of a man this Sunday afternoon in the eastern part of the city, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, announced via a tweet that he has spoken with the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, to request more resources in order to further secure the city.

In less than a week, a man died after being shot in the head and another was injured with a knife. An investigation has been opened for each of the cases.
