While playing away at Biarritz Olympique, the Nice team did not manage to pull off a surprise and were defeated (16-0).
After their loss last week against Nevers, Stade Niçois wanted to try to bounce back on Biarritz’s field. Against a team that is at the top of the table, it’s undoubtedly challenging to regain momentum in a championship. Unfortunately, the feat did not happen, and it is with a seventh consecutive defeat that Stade Niçois returns from the Basque Country.
The match remained tightly contested, and it was through penalties and the indiscipline of the Nice team that BO took the lead. The Basques were ahead 9-0 until the 80th minute of play, at which point the locals scored the only try of the match. No points for Nice, but despite the defeats, they must not give up hope of staying in the league. Nice is at the bottom of the standings with a 7-point gap from the first team above the relegation zone. Everything is still possible. Even though next week, Stade Niçois will face off against the leader of this Pro D2, Grenoble.
