This CD Rom, finalized in October 2008, is an essential tool of the General Council’s action for improving the consideration of seismic risk in construction. A final report was written, detailing the progress of the work, and 1,000 CD Roms were distributed at the beginning of 2009.
Recognizing that the Alpes-Maritimes region, due to its geographical position and morphology, is subject to significant geological hazards – earthquakes and land movements – which can cause numerous disorders compromising the safety of people and property, the General Council has gradually engaged in an appropriate policy aimed at better understanding of these phenomena and the development of information and awareness activities for professionals and the public.
The objective is to introduce a true culture of risk that will ultimately enable better management at all levels of considering these phenomena in the sustainable development of the department.
