Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 8:30 PM, the Palais Nikaïa will open its doors to Captain Samurai Flower, Pascal Obispo. In an eco-friendly rock opera, the singer will wave the Flag to save the planet.
Busy times for Pascal Obispo. After launching his own radio station (“Radi’O”, broadcast on the Goom bundle), he continues with gala events, and eco gatherings (on April 22 he will be at the Grand Gathering for the Planet on the Pyla dune), the singer from the Southwest announces his return to the stage with an extraordinary musical project, decidedly POP, for an eventful tour!
In this animated Rock Opera, Pascal Obispo plays an idealistic messenger, Captain Samurai Flower, who, through a fantastic, poetic, and always positive odyssey, seeks to unite all generations for the preservation of the planet.
He travels aboard his vessel “The Ark of Noway”, accompanied by a crew whose members each represent one of the sectors affected such as the ocean, forests, the ice caps…
Captain Samurai Flower’s endeavor aims to raise awareness among teenagers about environmental protection, but especially to bring adults together. And all that to music with a very Anglo-Saxon sound, inspired by the ambiance and spirit of the late 60s! At 44 years old, the singer thus intends to position himself as a standard-bearer for a youth who are constantly bombarded with concepts like sustainable development.
A film of a new kind, mixing painting and animation, lasting over seventy minutes, will accompany the show starting February 26, 2010. Marc Maggiori is at the helm to illustrate this epic.
But what arouses the most interest is the ambitious project to bring this concept to life through a tour that Pascal Obispo wishes to conduct off the beaten track. In an interview, he indeed revealed his weariness regarding large American-style tours which he feels lack humanity, from which he wishes to distance himself to create a true eco-friendly rock opera, reminiscent of what the greatest rock bands have done.
