For the past 4 years, the City of Nice has been engaged in various projects and developments aimed at improving and streamlining traffic in the western part of the city.
According to the announced schedule, following the first phase of technical studies launched in September 2010, public consultation for the realization of the Mathis Road tunnel will be able to take place.
With the recently inaugurated exit ramp from the A8 in the South-North direction towards RM 6202bis, the redevelopment of the Nice Promenade interchange whose work has begun, or the 40-meter road project which will start this autumn in the Var plain, the future Victorine tunnel is of paramount importance.
Anticipated by more than 85% of Nice residents, this tunnel will indeed significantly improve traffic at the exit of the Mathis Road.
