Ranking of Business Schools: EDHEC and SKEMA Among the Best

Latest News

The 2017 ranking by Figaro ร‰tudiant lists the thirty-eight major French business schools. Once again this year, the top three remain unchanged. HEC (1st), ESSEC (2nd), and ESCP Europe (3rd) are leaders in excellence.

In turn, the British economic daily, Financial Times, has published its 2016 ranking of global business schools. Unsurprisingly, France ranks high, with six schools in the top twenty and twenty-four schools listed out of ninety (against sixteen British, five German, and one American).

Nevertheless, the first place in the ranking goes, for the sixth consecutive time, to the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, closely followed by HEC Paris (2nd) and ESSEC Business School (3rd).

Why are business school rankings important?

At a time when high school and college students have a wide choice in their career paths, business school rankings can provide them with an initial indication. While one should not rely solely on these post-secondary (or post-prep school) business school rankings, it remains important to consider them.

The schools with a campus in Nice are ranked: in 5th place Edhec, in 11th Skema, and in 25th Ipag.

In this ranking, letudiant.fr considers three main criteria: academic excellence, international excellence, and the schools’ proximity to businesses.

The FT considers as main criteria: international openness, graduate salaries, return on investment, international mobility, internships, etc.

The Nice schools are well-positioned: Edhec Business School (15th worldwide): 97% employment rate within 3 months, Skema Business School (26th worldwide): 90% employment rate within 3 months.
