As they say in such cases, if you keep talking about it, it might just happen! Marion Marรฉchal Le Pen’s support for Olivier Bettati (and Philippe Vardon), but especially the sidelining of the former leaders from her grandfather Jean-Marie Le Pen’s era, has not always been well received by them. Consequently, controversies and threats have quickly spread recently.
The former close circle of the “Sphinx” in the department, represented by Lydia Schenardi, had recently announced that no dissident list would be presented to avoid diminishing the chances of the Frontist candidate. However, as is always the case in politics, the far-right movement has become a nebulous entity with multiple difficult-to-control divergences.
Thus, a so-called parallel list (would someone please explain what that means?) has been declared under the name “Paca fait Front,” a name that is evocative and tinged with a certain nostalgia.
At the head or as a spokesperson of this group is Michel Cotta: someone with a past in the National Front and who was at the helm of an independent list in the 2014 municipal elections in Nice, where he did not achieve significant success (0.5% in the first round). But every election has its own story.
Beyond the motivations that can be read below, it will be interesting to know the names of those presenting themselves to the voters in order to better understand the significance and scope of this initiative.
In fact, the definition of “parallel list” needs to be much better understood…
Statement
The multiple initiatives aimed at alerting the candidate endorsed by the National Front for the upcoming regional elections in December in PACA, Marion Marรฉchal-Le Pen, about the confusion caused among the Frontist electoral base by the choice of appointing Olivier Bettati, a defector from the most hostile UMP faction to the FN, the one of J-F. Copรฉ, as the leading figure in the Alpes-Maritimes, have not succeeded;
Unwilling to accept the idea that thousands of national right voters, beyond the Alpes-Maritimes, throughout the entire PACA region, could be deprived of expression due to this situation in the election, and thereby reducing the chances of victory for the national movement, we announce the creation of a parallel regional list to that of Mrs. Marรฉchal-Le Pen, named “PACA fait Front.”
This list will bring together executive members and activists of the National Front as well as representatives of other national right forces.
We will announce in the coming days the names of each list representative for the 6 departments of PACA.
For the Collective “PACA fait Front 2015,” Michel Cotta
