The City of Nice invites you to enjoy the gentle spring and the wonders of the Monastery of Cimiez Gardens as part of the national event “Rendez-vous aux Jardins,” organized by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, which will be held from June 3 to 5 on the theme of the “nourishing garden.”
This initiative aims to promote the knowledge, protection, maintenance, and restoration of historic parks and gardens. The Monastery of Cimiez Gardens has been designated as the reference garden of the City of Nice to participate in this annual event.
Two gardeners from the City will welcome you for guided tours to introduce you to, among other things, the garden’s rose collection and the Zero Pesticide approach.
The theme of the “nourishing garden” will be developed along the paths descending from the cloister and at the heart of the garden. Lettuce, tomatoes, eggplants, beans, and also a variety of aromatic plants will remind visitors of the primary purpose of this crop garden, cultivated by the monks of the convent adjacent to the Monastery.
